    Default Wooden Text

I've come up with a quick way to create a woodgrain effect. I've applied it to text here, but this could be applied to all manner of shapes. And the text remains editable too!

Frances that looks very much like some things made in woodshop back in the dark ages when I was in junior high school.

    Very nice technique. Thank you.

    Nice and simple technique!
But don't forget about fractal fills.

The thing I really like about the method Frances has used is the irregularity of the pattern, there is even a hint of knottiness. Font: Jungle Caps.

Using real wood bitmaps as fills can make it easy to produce realistic woody graphics...

Poor Frances. She thought she came up with a great tutorial (she did) but everybody has another way of doing wood type.

And don't forget about using a blend to get a realistic 3D look.
