    Richard,

I think Availor was trying to say that if you can't do it in pencil, you won't be able to it in Xara X either... And I agree - it is art, skill and patience in one huge wonderful bundle! http://www.talkgraphics.com/images/smilies/smile.gif

Depends on what the "huge wonderful bundle" looks like!! http://www.talkgraphics.com/images/smilies/biggrin.gif Nyuk, nyuk, nyuk http://www.talkgraphics.com/images/smilies/biggrin.gif

Seriously though, I have "spoken" with other "non artists" that have done amazing things with vector and even painting programs that never picked up a pencil to use as an art tool in their entire life!! Now I'm a doodler and fine line artist from way back (now) and it's a might strange to me but now that I'm mostly doing digital art work I'm getting used to the notion that a pencil or brush an artist doth not make. Tools are tools and the imagination and the good knowledge in how to make use of the tools can spring forth amazing things some times!!

Geez, don't I sound wise........ or something.... http://www.talkgraphics.com/images/smilies/rolleyes.gif

The difference between having a mesh tool and not having one is using 20, or 1 object for the same end.

It all boils down to speed, and being able to accomplish a task as quick as possible is what Xara is about, so I believe that a mesh tool is inevitable to the future survival of the program.
Art should tell a story. Don't paint a moment, paint a lifetime.

Eobet, I think you have summed it up pretty good.

I am not sure the traditional mesh tools in Illustrator or Draw would be good enough for Xara. I would hope Xara could come up with a better/easier easy-to-use tool ..... if they have any intentions for something like this in the future.

Maybe a mesh/mold/transperancy tool alltogether ? that can disort bitmaps as well as vector, with a vector fill abilities? http://www.talkgraphics.com/images/smilies/wink.gif
