Using Shade curve tool, a bit of bevel and 3d extrude. Not sure it's quite as reflective as real chrome, but like the final effect.

Thanks John, the shade curve method is indeed awesome. I just never thought of feeding a 'sine wave' into what is primarily an, urm, 'Gamma correction' tool really

I played around with creating a chrome look too. Mine does use the shade curve feature + a bevel + contour. The background was builtup with transpariencies + a fractal fill.
