Maybe to cool down this entire discussion, I should state that I accept that there's a market for something like XWD, else it wouldn't exist.

My conclusion to get everyone happy: I will keep doing graphics design and site programming entirely seperate for my and my clients' projects, and I would be happy if Xtreme dropped the entire web site creation part and instead focused on being a does-one-thing-great package. It's already very good in graphics, and if all energy were focused on that, it would become even more extraordinary.

It seems that Xara is moving that way by introducing the seperate WD application, and that's a good thing.

That's good to hear. I already thought this was another instance of my total lack of social competence manifestating ;-)

I think we should start a fund to sponsor a hypnotist to travel to the Ukraine..

"John, you are feeling very sleepy. You are in a relaxing place. You will now appreciate the beauty and elegance of the layers panel. It could be so wonderful with your help. You would make Charles so happy. He is bored with XWD and says the time is right for Xtreme. This is what he wants you to do.. "

Having followed many of the recent discussions about the new Web Designer and it's good and bad points, I felt I must add my 2 cents for what they are worth.

I create websites using html, php, perl, etc. and use javascript when needed, or anything else that gives me the results I'm looking for. I bought Xara Extreme to help me create my own web graphics. It has inspired me to go beyond that and delve into much more.

I will buy Web Designer. It is another tool in my arsenal to help make life easier and be more productive. It is just that! a tool. It won't do everything I need, but it will come in very handy.

The price is right. That is for sure.
