Not forgotten, it's just that the forums have been swamped by the release of Xara Web Designer.
To get back to your thread, however, I don't think anything has progressed beyond your post #7 . As Paul eloquently put it, "Less is more". Design 7 really does fit the bill. White text on a black background is notoriously difficult to read. The rest with gradient fills and extra colours is just fluff. Not required in my opinion. Take it from me, Your design #7 is as good as it gets, go for it!

There's a limit to what a logo can convey. Trying to overload the logo with different things seems to be a step too far. Most people kick off with a few ideas and refine them. This thread seems to be going the opposite way. I think logos should aim to be simple, bold and to the point.

Thank You. I reverted back to simplicity. I will go with #7 if none of the designs that I attached are good (infact, these are very small modifications of 7). Just that #7 was not conveying what I wanted my group to convey... (formation of communities for a cause).

White text on a black background is notoriously difficult to read.
Actually, I was told to first design a black and white logo initially so I used only two colors. Could you tell me the text color to be used if the background is black and another case where it is white?

    Thank You.

I like 29 = On the white background the edges ofthe hexagon are too heavy. If you go with 28 try and lighten them a little.

I think that the hexagon is a nice touch.

    purifier,

Now you're getting somewhere! Simple, elegant, and memorable. That's a logo that would look good on baseball caps, t-shirts, golf balls, letterhead, business cards, and FAXes (for those who still insist on using them).

Oh, BTW, #'s 28 and 29 have my vote. Just tweak the edges of the hexagons so they're more consistant/uniform.

    I'm diggin' it,

Thank You for your feedbacks. I do agree that it is used more by sports companies but is there any other symbol for representing communities or groups of people? Some very simple symbol perhaps?

I'd be interested to see what you came up with. Here's a selection of things I doodled with, but they're probably all irrelevant and unsuitable because I confess I don't understand the concept you were trying to explain at all!
