    Default Can't Export HTML!

    Hi everyone

New user, long-time Xara customer here. I'm unable to export to HTML with Web Designer and can't figure out why.

HTML export works fine with Xtreme Pro, so no problems there. Am running windows XP.

    Anyone else having this problem?

    Cheers

    Please explain in more detail.

Is the export to website (html) not available in the Export dialog?

Are you getting an error when you use the website export?

Welcome to the Web Designer conference.

When you export, try this. Create a folder on your desktop. Export to that folder and do not add an extension to your file. I have encountered some problems when trying to append an extension when I export a file, for example, index.html

Try this and let us know if it works.

The export dialog box comes up, but when I click the button to export html, nothing happens.

It works ok when I export other formats, such as jpeg.

No error messages at all, it's just that nothing happens.

Have also tried saving to a folder in desktop but that didn't work either.

    Cheers

Do you have a security package like McAfee installed or any other registry monitoring software?

Try uninstalling then disconnect from the internet followed by disabling any security apps you have running.

    Reinstall Web Designer.

It is possible the dll with the html export filter was not properly registered during any previous install.

Antivirus software could be the cause. Will look at re-installing. Thanks.

OK. So I switched off all anti virus programs. Uninstalled then reinstalled Web Designer. Still no export HTML capability. Any other suggestions?

I cannot think of anything more at this time. Covoxer will be online again in a few hours. He will have more ideas, I'm sure. He is a Xara developer and I believe wrote the html code routines.

Thanks Bill. I've noticed there's another thread going where users are experiencing the same problem. So it may not be an isolated issue.

After the export dialog box closes, look in the directory that you were exporting too. Is there any new files or folders created?
