    Default Working with plugins.

Back in May 2007 a near neighbour of ours asked me to download some photos from her digital camera to my computer (her computer wasn’t working at the time) and put them on a CD rom for future use. They were taken at the local village fiesta of San Isidro in May of that year. When she eventually saw the photos, she asked me if I could “do something” with the one on the left, so that it could be printed as a CD cover, which I did, as the middle graphic shows.
I posted this result here, but I can’t find the original thread, now.
I wanted to design a cover for the DVD version, (a movie of the whole ceremony at the village church, which the parents of Melody (the girl featured here)) wanted.
So I freshened up the image (right) with 3 plugins, Alien Skin’s BOKEH, (Sledger's thread here) Akvis FRAME SUITE and Alien Skin’s SPLAT! / Edges for the halftone effect on the frame.
I had a lot of fun using the plugins, and I learned how to use Bokeh properly in the process.
Do any of you have work that you have made using plugins that you would like to share here?
    Saludos,
    Bob.

I am frequently using plugins for stuff where I either do not know how to create the effects needed, when the plugin provides superior quality or when the plugin saves that much time that it pays itself right away.

The only point I always have in mind is that when on a new or updated OS or host software, the plugin doesn't work anymore, I lost my sources.
Here an example of plugins I used for a software project (advent calendar game) in December.

The plugins used are from Alien Skin Impact, Nature and Xenofex:
Burnt Edges and Brushed Metal for the outline
Snowdrift for the background and the letter
    Lightning

I agree, but blurring the background any more would have made it pretty much abstract, so I settled for making the cars less noticeable (not less noticeable enough, obviously) .

Thanks for the invitation. It's no secret that I'm a "plug-in fanatic".

SuperBlade Pro along with some play gives a "grunge" motif to my ancestors' photos. I do hope they were eccentric enough to approve.

This metalic paint effect was done done using a RGB speckle filter from Unplugged. below is the original sphere without the overlay and the pallet of colours I used to create it.

I mean by using the clone stamp tool or similar. For eg, i had to remove someone from a photo for a friend.
