For me the green logo in the middle is easily better. Much simpler and very nice artwork, too. Edit: my original response stated the green one on the right, but I did not see the one that was hidden on the right!

I live in North Aurora which is just north of the town of Aurora

Um..I always have a hard time deciding. These are stacked in my view with the image with 4 little planets on top left, the smooth green slash on top right and the sparklier green slash on the bottom.

I prefer the smooth green slash even though the bottom one looks pretty. I prefer it because I think once it's printed it will look better.
Of the 4 planets, I like the bottom left one but I would move the orange glow to the right side of the planet where it meets the word so it kind of highlights both.

    Thumbs up Re: Logo

    Burpee,
Let me see if I understood.
I've changed the orange glow, is that the position proposed by you?.
I'm also attaching the green logo with its background ajusted in size.
I look foward to hearing from you.

the planet ones are just horrible but the green one is unquestionably the best.

    Hi Jvila,

These are all wonderful. But, often times, designers tend to forget to think the design through and consider ALL the different ways the art may be used in the future. In other words, is it a practical design?

For instance, what if you or they need a one color (spot color) version for screen printing? Maybe embroidery? These designs look great on black, but what about on white? How well will they fit on business cards?

I've worked in the printing industry for many years as a designer/illustrator on one end...and a graphic artist/pre-press technician on the other. I've spent hours trying to salvage elaborate logo designs submitted to simply be stamped on a golf ball. I always test all the logos I create, and try and determine any future use problems. I also present the logo, simulated many different ways (ie. size, color, placement...) on a "tear sheet" so that my customers can be confident how their logo will look in ways they may not have imagined.

    Thanks,
    Mike

    Mike,
I realize what you mean, I made two designs simpler to tackle what you mentioned.
    What do you think?.

    my 3 cents
i'd say middle green logo (from the first post) is v good
but try it with the font from CMONE's posts
(of course with green light from the bottom)
