    Default Text FX

The text effect I tend to rummage around in the toolbox for is that which I use when wanting a display text rather than paragraph text.
I find that placing a white contour around the text and then applying a drop shadow works pretty well with most colours for the text (except white)
and most backgrounds (except black). It works well with most font types, too, sans serif or serif.
It seems to be achieveable in most graphic applications, vector or raster.
Is there a particular type of text effect that you tend to favour over any other?
    Saludos,
    Bob.

I only ever use the drop shadow if I want to make the text much more prominent than other text. Or I use it when a particular colour (especially white) is hard to see when over a photo where the colours in the photo seem to blend and make the text hard to read.
