    Question Installing Xara Xtreme

I purchased a copy of Xara Xtreme a year or so ago. I have my account details including serial number. I got it working by "unlocking" a downloaded copy. I worked with it for a year or so then got caught up in another project. Now, I try to execute Xara and it says that the "This purchased download version has expired" and to install the CD's that were shipped to me some time ago (which I have lost in 2 different moves).

Any idea how I can get my Xtreme up and running again? I have an account, serial number, and password. Does any of that help?

    Thank you.

    Phil.

    Hello Phil,

    Welcome to Talkgraphics.

    Contact Xara Support at http://support.xara.com

To get Xara Xtreme working while waiting for replacement CD log into your Xara account where you can download.

I contact Xara but they are in the UK. Probably be tomorrow before they will respond -- if that quick.

In the meantime, I tried to download another copy but it failed again for the same reason -- downloaded copy timeout. I was hoping that someone had another solution.

    Thanks anyway!

    Phil.

DL trial copies expire after 30 days. Copies unlocked with your purchased serial number will expire after 90 days which is generally sufficient time for your CD to have arrived.

You can reset your PC date, I believe this works - but it may cause other installed software to malfunction.

Thank you, but I would rather not reset the date.

Hopefully, I will get a response back from Xara tomorrow. I find it surprising that Xara would not have staff in the US to support this huge market.

Oh, well. Thank you for your suggestions.

Phil I was not referring to downloading the trial version.

I'm talking about logging into your Xara account and downloading the unlocked version. I have never tried reinstalling on the same machine that has passed the 90 day timeout

I downloaded the one they suggested on the Support page but I am not sure there really is a difference...

Bill the Registered Owners Account area has undergone a change and a new look since I last logged in.
There are no download links from your registered Account 'Service Centre' now, just a list of your registered products and the installation serial numbers.

Phil, I'm afraid you will have to wait at least until the UK business hours.
Xara always respond, but may not respond as quickly as you'd like.

I must say that I'm a little confused about how you could have "worked with it for a year or so" then realized you have lost your CD's. As mentioned, the DL version which is unlocked via your purchased serial number will have expired in 3 months (90 days).

Wow it has been changed alot since I last logged in.

However, the downloads are still available. The link at the bottom of the My Products page takes you to the down load page.

True, previously however this was not necessary as the registered products page had them directly.
