Default CMYK colors for print question

If I take a cmyk color and create shades of that, say for a car drawing that later I might want to change the color of, are those shades of that cmyk color also considered cmyk? Hope that makes sense.

    Hi Ron,

If you make a shade of a cmyk colour the shade is also cmyk.

Ron have a look at Minimiro's reply to this thread and read post 12: http://talkgraphics.com/showthread.php?t=36075&page=2

I don't go as far as that I open the file in AI have have a look their for colour correction so therefore I don't produce two file for the same drawing.
    Design is thinking made visual.
