What did you get for Christmas?

Well, my son took delivery of his beautifully shiny metallic black project car (still a hollow rolling shell) from the paint and glass shop late Christmas eve.
To have it in time for the break is a great Christmas present for him!
Now the big job of rebuilding the AE86 Trueno begins.

Very shiny, and an interesting shot, Steve.
Since you asked, I received 4 hardback Terry Pratchett Discworld novels, a genuine DVD of Salvador with James Woods and James Belushi that I've been wanting for years, a case of Alhambra Reserva 1925 beer (24 bottles 6.4% vol.) and a mixed case of Pata Negra Valdepeñas Gran Reserva 2001 and Pata Negra 2007. Also I had a concert of Jeff Beck at Ronnie Scott's which I watched this evening (I promise I'll have a ritual burning of it so that I can't watch it again ). Also I had a gift from the manager of the local Coviran supermarket (my wife does a part-time caring job for his mother) of a 4 litre pack of Flora cholesterol free milk (this is apparently a traditional present at Christmas in Spain, although it doesn't have to be cholesterol free). I was also treated to a day off cooking lunch as we had a Christmas lunch at a local restaurant. All in all an excellent day. I hope other members here had as good a time as I did.
Edit: ps; I still have some of the beer and wine left as I write.

Great gift Joel. I've seen some spectacular shots taken with the 5D MkII.
The HD video also looks brilliant, way better than the D90.

I got a small box of mixed nuts. Lettering on a piece of tape stuck to the box said to shake before opening. When I shook the box, two squirrels came to see what I was doing. When I opened the box, there were two nuts inside. I felt sorry for the squirrels... I guess a small hole in the lid and a piece of film, and I'll have a new camera.

I got a lovely new telescope - a Skywatcher Skymax 102 SynScan AZ GOTO - cost about £370 all told and I had to buy most of it myself, but well worth it.

I got snow, lots of it. By Christmas day there was 2ft of snow on the ground. The snow here is not the light fluffy stuff found elsewhere, but wet heavy stuff that turns roads into skating rinks. The large amount of heavy snow did begin to melt as the last 2 days were rainy, bringing with it flooding in some areas. We aren't flooded (yet) but the heavy snow sliding off our metal roof has taken down all the eaves troughs with it. And as I look out the window it's snowing again.
