Default Easy way to create smooth curve

From the attached xar file you can see I'm trying to recreate a logo. I sort of managed with the two trees but the circle border is as they say doing my head in.

Is there an easy way? I've tried creating elipses and using the shaoe editor tool and drawing freehand I seem unable to get a smooth curve

    any hints?

    thanks

This is what I would do.

Create a line and shape it the same as the circle part. Give it a wide width. Select the Freehand & Brush Tool and then select the stroke shape of your choice. Convert line to shape and then add additional point form there.

I've attached a file with the steps. I did this really quick so it's not an exact match but it should work with a little more effort.

Why have you mentioned a problem with the border but failed to display it in your .xar file except a poor pixelated bitmap copy?
