Like JA I find the 4 contour a pain (and the 5 step blend). I would be well content (Xara are you listening) if they just remembered the last used setting.

It is more logical to think Xara Group Ltd will see your wish in a dedicated thread rather than being buried within a thread of another topic.

While we're at it:

Why a default of .67 and not NONE for the line width?

Why when resizing width and height do you always get stuck with a decimal that has to be manually adjusted and not a whole number?

Bill I believe JA was referring to XarReg in the Xara Xtreme Defaults thread as his comment followed the your's and John's posts discussing XarReg - not Xara Xtreme.
I was pointing out that contour step editing was already available within Xtreme.

I had a quick scan of the registry but could find no entry which controls the default contour steps.

You are right Steve there is no registry entry for the Contour Tool settings.

For Aridzone's points, the only registry entry I can find is to force the use of points for line width rather than using pixels.

See attachment for point and pixel size for four lines widths.

Older versions (Xara X and X¹) used points for line width.

If I'm right, which as part of the original thread JA's post certainly looked that way to me, this really is a XaReg wish list and not (yet another) Xara Xtreme one right?

Another XaReg wish recently was about adding a control to change the 'Create Bitmap Copy' dpi from the default 96 to 150/200/300/600 ??

The registry entry is as follows.

Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

For anyone who missed it - Bills excellent XaReg is a simple utility that changes many registry settings for Xara versions Xara X through Xtreme 4.0. - it is available completely free from the Xara Xone Shareware page.

I'm currently working on an update to XaReg. The DPI setting and Arrow sizes are the two specific areas to be added.

If you know of a registry setting you would like added please let me know by November 30th. I plan to begin writing the code during my next break from work which begins on Monday December 1st.
