My primary camera is the 6.1 mp PENTAX *istDS dSLR with pretty good PENTAX SMC glass.
Takes fantastic shots
I also own a LUMIX DMC-LZ10 10MP bought mostly for the 720p 16:9 movie mode.
The photo quality is b* awful in anything but bright sunlight. Not recommended for photos.
A slightly disappointing poll, because it strengthens the totally wrong marketing hype about "Megapixels", which is almost the LEAST important figure about a digital camera More megapixels can even mean *worse* picture quality, as noise increases and you'll more often have problems with noise rather than too low resolution.
But anyway, I have a Nikon Coolpix CP8400 and an old Kodak DC290
Yes you're right of course and this is common enough knowledge nowdays (more mp = more noise at low ISO and/or low lighting)
The poll is likely more about Xara devs needing to ascertain the average camera resolution (image size) in order to better cater for the importation and handling of images from the average digital camera in the next version of Xtreme rather than quality of the image (which is of course - subjective )
I'm surprise your 2.1MP DC290 still works. I had a DC215 then a DC280, both of which turned up their toes quite quickly. By todays standards they were very expensive too.
