One of the great advantages to Flash over Gif animation is that you can copy frames without increasing file size. Like this flash that went from 8 frames to 48 with the order changed so those 8 frames do not look like they are repeating.

    Hi,
Yet another advantage to Flash over GIF I don't beleive you can right click an image in Flash and 'Save as.." therefore any image with in Flash is copy protected.

Not to flog an expired equine, but my point was, if you look at the side by side images I posted, the GIF vs. the JPEG, it is very difficult to tell the difference.

So in spite of what Wikipedia might have to say on the subject, you can get a very credible photographic image with 256 colors.

I did not say or intend to imply that GIF animation is preferable to Flash, because it is not. GIF animation had its day and that day is pretty far passed.

Although not gone by any means. After years of doing an animated gif about once every two years (if that often), I'm now doing them regularly: web banners.

Plus, I've been told that I'll have to put out many more versions of each ad next year as our presence in state organizations increases. <sigh>

Don't count on that Jim. Everything viewed on the internet is stored in your computer. You just have to open the TEMP folder to copy flash.
