Not had a lot of time this month, trial near out

I have a question, I was playing around with Xara Extreme Pro. I had a header gif and I added in some text

I saved it, but it was not saved a a gif file but rather xar

it needed to be a gif file

so I save it as all files and then just called it logo.gif

but when I opened it locally on my pc, it would not give me a preview of it

I uploaded it to a server, and it was not coming up at all online either.

Any ideas as to what I could be doing wrong.

I wish I had left my thirty day trial of this software until next month as I have not had a lot of time at all this month to work at it.

It does seem to do things easier than photoshop, but I have not spent enough time with it to get to grips with it.

Any comments appreciated

Hi Gordon,

In Xara Xtreme the Save and Save As only work for the native .xar format.

To create a .gif, .jpg, .png, etc type of file use the Export feature of the File Menu.

Hi you need to export it as as gif

save only works for .xar [calling it something different does not change that]

Thanks Bill and Steve, that is why I could not get it to work

I think Xara is definitely a whole lot faster than Photoshop and the learning curve not as steep, but as with anything else, it DOES help when one knows what one is doing :-)
