Thread: mirror

    Default mirror

    hi,

does anyone know if there is anything like an automatically updating mirror tool in xtreme? by automatic, I mean that when the original half of the design is changed, the mirrored side includes the changes.. can't find any option in the layers.. but is there a plugin/workaround.
The fastest way I've found so far is to select the curves to be mirrored, and scale with one of the middle handles opposite the imaginary line of mirroring, then scale with ctrl held down while moving the mouse over this line of symmetry.

The reason I need it is because I'm designing a shaped, but symmetrical bottle and want to be able to see quickly the result of tweaking the styling slightly. doing the mirroring manually each time is slowing me down.

    any ideas guys?

    thanks.

I came here to ask the very same question! I'm designing an avatar and being able to mirror the sides of the figure around a central axis would speed things up no end. Hope someone can help.

    Cheers

    In short no,

Fastest way is group the items and use the flip button, see att.

glueing a mirror to the screen would do the job.

    Of course that would do
    But seriously:
    -create what you want
    -clone(ctrl+k)
    -group
    -flip
    -nudge in place

    That should do the trick

that works, but the mirror glued to the screen keeps automatically updating the design as I work
