Tehre was a few of those "bubbles" in clipart at one time. I forget where they are now and the wife is screaming at me to eat, so I don't have time to look at the moment.

yes - and to me that's the point

it depends what you are doing, but to me the balloon has to be part of what is being said, not simply a container

really they date back to the days before computers when lettering was done separately and manually pasted onto/into the artwork - a balloon outline 'covered up the joins', as well as enabling the text to be 'plain' type without looking too much out of place

these days a lot of cartoonists [self included] don't bother with them at all, or only where they 'add something'

a surfeit of balloons is boring - just like most other things.... but never your brushes

Thanks for that link. I think most of those bubbles and text could be made in xtreme but that was a good site to check out.
