I happily rcvd. the news of XaraX's recent
"upgrade" Xara X1, and I happily purchased
a boxed CD set of this new Xara X1.

I know software will never be perfect and
need "tweaking". Within this forum I have
heard of several "bugs" already, many of
    them acknowledged by Xara.

My hopes are that many of these "bugs" will
be corrected so that they will NOT be on the
CD boxed set I am to receive. Also, I hope
that the future "fixes" to this version of
Xara X1 will be as relatively small patches
which can be downloaded fairly quickly, as
opposed to having repeatedly download huge
9 MB re-works of Xara X1. (I, like many here,
have dial-up and not DSL, so huge software
    downloads take much time.)

Can someone from Xara assure me about these
2 matters (CD set being "improved" over early
release to Talkgraphics folks, and future
bug fixes will be small patches and not one
huge re-hash download of original software) ?

I have greatly enjoyed using XaraX and like
the improvements I see in XaraX1. I trust Xara
will continue excelling in this incredible
    vector app.

    Thank you.

Kman, I can address one of your questions.

"CD set being "improved" over early
    release to Talkgraphics folks"

Yes. Not only have some bug fixes been done in the last few days anyway, since the special TalkGraphics release, we generally wait around two weeks before having the CDs pressed anyway. That way we can be aware of any potential problems that occur and fix them before the CDs get made.

As to patches vs re-downloading the programme, I can't say as I'm not in the technical department. But narrowband users are still very much on the radar within Xara, so the smallest route will always be taken if it can.
I'd start a revolution, if I could get up in the morning.

    Ken:
I'm on dsl now but feel your pain http://www.talkgraphics.com/images/smilies/wink.gif
What I used to do was use Fresh Download, it's a share ware program and really excellent at preventing dl problems. You might want to take a look at it, it's free and doesn't have any spy ware, etc.: http://www.freshdevices.com/
