    Default Spinach on the beach

These characters need no introduction, but I hope I've given them a whole new style.
I'm not happy with the feet, which seem to be sitting on top of the sand.
Could anyone help me with ideas about how to make them look more realistic?

Footprints and setting the feet "in" the sand instead of "on" the sand might help.

    Looks good so far tho.

Thanks for all the helpful ideas!!
To: Soquili, don't worry. I didn't forget Wimpy!

Another character I forgot was Sweet Pea. I decided not
to add them, for the picture would look kinda cramped.

Probably ruining your excellent image, but is this idea any good?

Cloned image, drew shape on sandy bit of clone and intersected, used this to partly cover boots and feathered.

Sure you can do much better than my effort

Come on, after the movie "supersize me"?
They can`t do that anymore, promoting burgers.
Spinach is okay (if it is fresh) so that could
    still go.

Very nice work. And don't forget his three nephews.

Barracuda, great drawing. However it's the drop shadows that don't work for me. I can't ever remember seeing a Popeye cartoon with complicated shadows. How about just a simple shadow below each figure. This seems to plant them more onto the beach.
