'Repel text under' problem

Hi, a newbie here,
I hope someone can help.
I can't seem to get the 'Repel text under' to work.
It's very likely me doing something wrong, but can't think what.

I have written the text (9 lines) and added an object, which has been grouped. I select the object, which is on top/in front of the text. I then right-click and select 'Repel text under', change the width to 3 pixels and click 'Repel'.
Nothing happens.
I have tried selecting both text and object with the same result. Then selected object and text. nothing.
Help, what am I doing wrong?
There are no other instructions in the Help files, I have looked at the Xara video, where everything looks so easy..

Hi Grenou,

First make sure text is in a text area, not just a line - draw the area by dragging diagonaly with the text tool.

Second, with the object selected, hold down CONTROL and press F, to make sure it is in front.

Should work now

Thanks, I made sure the text is in a text area as suggested, making sure the object is in front. No luck.
I have saved it and hope I manage to attach the file :-)
Oops, no, I don't have a link/website, it's on my computer. is there any other way to upload it?

Edit the post - "Go Advanced" go down to manage attachments and add it there, by browsing your computer

Underneath the reply box, click on 'MANAGE ATTACHMENTS', browse to your xar file and upload

There is a text box there, but that text doesn't appear to be in it .....

Cut and paste the text into the box. Worked for me.
