    Default Grains instead of sharpening

Currently am working on a website, to be precise designing it. I am using corel for my purpose and have encountered a problem. Whenever I export the vector the edges become grainy and the overall outcome is as bad as you can imagine. Though it has been some time since I used corel but I guess this was not that hard to do either. Any suggestions where I might be going wrong? Please tell me ways with which I can sharpen the edges of the vector.

Hi there...when you create a website in Corel DRAW, it usually rasterizes any vectors before exporting them.

I am guessing that the settings are set to rasterize a low resolution GIF (16 colour or something).

    Try going into:

    File>Publish To The Web>HTML...

Now select the images tab and make sure that you have the Type set to Highest Quality JPG Progressive and not a low quality GIF.

    Hope this helps.

    hi,
it would be better if you upload the image

    - to create for the web on CorelDraw, the document on wich you work must be at a resolution of 72 (by default it's set for the print work = 300 dpi)
    - when you export:
check if the image is at good dimensions and resolution
    and enable the anti-aliasing option
do not compress the image too much if it's a jpg (do not exceed a compression of 10)

I'd use a resolution of 96 (which is standard for a windows monitor).

Right Keith. It has also been 96 dpi on Mac monitors for around 10 years. Adobe seems to have overlooked that with their 72 dpi applications.

Many modern monitors support higher resolutions around 120 dpi but not many applications are supporting them equally. Some distortions result from setting your monitor to a higher resolution.
