    Default PDF doesn't export drop shadows etc...

    When I export to PDF (commercial printing), native color model, converting text to curves... it seems to work fine. It looks okay in Acrobat CS3.

    But when the printer tries to print it, the drop shadows turn white and an imported PSD file (one layer with tranperant background), which is rotated a bit has a weird white box around it?

    Does anybody have the answer to this?

    The latest build is 4.0.4966 (that's what's on the CD) - I don't think that the export filters have changed, but it can't do any harm using the latest version.

    I wonder if converting the object with the shadow to editable shapes would help?

    thanks for your thought

    ss-kalm: have already updated to the latest version
    gwpriester; nope - just spoke to the printer - still white boxes, even though they are a bit smaller he says!

    Is there a bug in the dropshadow function I wonder?

    anybody have any idea please?

    If i'm not mistaken,i think it was something like this;

    convert to editable shapes>ungroup>create a bitmapcopy of the shadows

    Yes that is the solution I use. Even when using Illy I rasterise the shadow it is the only way. Sometimes even after doing this you can get very small white lines appearing in Acro when viewing but when on printing those lines are invisible. If you want some help give me a PM and I could have a look at the problem page.
    Design is thinking made visual.
