Thread: Scan to Xtreme

I must thank Dmitry once again, due to this post I was reminded to check the HP site for updates to my HP Scanjet 4890 which, up until now, their drivers and software only supported WindowsXP. Now HP had develeoped drivers and software for Windows Vista allowing me to connect the scanner to the machine I use mostly.
I can even set one of the lid buttons to scan directly to the clipboard.

    A Happy Chappie

Is it really hard to have that programmed into xara?
    As far as coding goes?

2 behzad - to code it into Xara is few lines of code and ~40kb freeware DLL.
I suspect Xara team will do this soon.

Here is latest version. You will not need to select scan source before scan, unless you have few TWAIN sources.

    please download and test.

Everything appears to work except the menu file/exit - it doesn't exit unless I use the upper right X. Or is it just my system this is happening on?

thanks, - saves a lot of time not having to load photoshop to scan...

    following points:

the program prompts for exit from the menu but it does not close whichever choice you make - agreed - you have to close with upper right 'X'

file saving - it does not add extension automatically need to type in '.bmp' or '.jpg' or '.jpeg' after file name - then it works ok
otherwise with bmp get a file with no type extension, with the jpg/jpeg no file at all appears to be generated

it does copy from clipboard into xara fine - which is the main thing

at the moment it closes down my twain dialog after each scan and that means in my case it turns off the scanner after every scan - be better if it could leave the twain dialog open for me to close manually if I have several scans to do at once [often the case]
