This is not really a Xara X question, but does anyone know what is the exact RGB in hex of the blue color of the background (wallpaper) of Windows 2000 ?

I kind of like that soft eye-pleasing blue.

(Bonus question: Is that color considered a "web safe" color ?)

The values are: Red 3A Green 6E Blue A5.

I'm not positive about the websafe question, but Win2K is supposed to be more compatable with the web than previous version of windows.

Web safe numbers are easy to identify when they are in hex because each color is either 00, 33, 66, 99, CC or FF.

3366CC is web safe... 3A6EA5 is not.

Thanks Nathan,

I wasn't sure what websafe colours were. I always learn something new from these threads.

If you want to "steal" a colour from another image or whatever, reduce XaraX from full screen, open the colour editor, select the eyedropper, move it out of Xara window into the window you require the colour from, and across your target colour(in this case the win2K background), which will then appear in the colour editor window, select the label icon and select "create new colour". The eyedropper is a great and overdue new feature in Xara X.
Also a great new edition is the RGB web /Hex colour addition which will give you the required hex of any colour.

that's cool I didn't know the exact values either. I'm printing them out now and taping them to my monitor
