Xara & PSP XI

hello..New to The Forum.
If Anyone could assist with My enquiry
As A total 'Noob',I've Used PSP XI for
A while Now for Paint Schemes(Skinning)
Within A Flight Sim Game IL2 Shturmovik.
New to Xara Extreme 4,I was wondering 'If'
I could Apply the same Techniques Used in PSP
Skinning/Layers,Painting,& Adding Aircraft Markings etc
Using Xara?
Within PSP Files for IL2 are Saved as .bmp,
Would Xara Save files as such(Other Files)from
Drop Down Menu,Or would I have to add name .bmp
Manually after the File I've created?
Been tinkering with Xara Software & Noted how Easy It
Was to Move the likes of Aircraft Markings around on their
Sheets Compared to PSP.
Haven't Tried Saving Anything as Yet within IL2 as
To see If Item Appears during Flight Scene with Xara
Additions.
Any Help Very much Appreciated.
