Xara Thumbnail Viewer 1.2 Problems

Having downloaded the viewer from the XarXone shareware site, which has installed the XarThumbnailViewer.dll in C:\Program Files\Xar Thumbnail Viewer, I am puzzled as to what next step I should take to see the viewer in action.

In other words I cannot get the viewer to work and should be most obliged for any help.

Hello Bill,

Welcome to the forum.

I believe this dll just works within explorer and you need to change the view to be thumbnails.

I think this viewer just works with windows 95/98 and xara x or even xara 2. I could never get it to work.

Xara X1 will display thumbnails in Windows explorer in thumbnail view on it's own.

I have XaraX1.
I have no thumbnail option in Windows View (Windows 98 SE).
Am I right in thinking that XaraX1 will not dispay thumbnails in Windows 98.

Some time ago I wrote a standalone program XTVd
which is Xara Thumbnail viewer too. http://www.talkgraphics.com/images/smilies/smile.gif

You can visit my homepage and take a look on it. Look for 'products' section.
Don't expect too much from it, X1 format not supported yet, but it is a question of few days.

If you use Total Commander, it is also plugin
to view X, X1 thumbnails as well.
