How to add fills to fill gallery

I had a similar problem when I bought my new computer. I downloaded a bunch of fills from XaraXone and saved them into a folder. I opened Graphic designer 10 went dto the fill gallery and clicked on disc, went to the folder and licked on the fill and the folder was empty so I clicked on add anyway and I got an access violation note and the program shut down. I know I'm doing something wrong but I just can't figure it out.
