I need your help to know how to do this photographic effect, which makes the pictures look very impressive.

Are you using Xara Xtreme ? Exactly what effect are you trying to achieve ?

Looks like a vignette effect - the darkening around the borders...

Here's two methods that may work for you. The first involves creating a transparent frame, and the second involves a contone copy with transparency. There are probably other methods as well.

Perhaps it's the vignette affect you're after?

You could try this quick method I've shown here.
Plenty of variations can be made using this method - so experiment a little

I suspect the first one was done similar to this effect which was produced in xara by drawing a black rectangle over the photo and applying elliptical transparency.
The second one the figure looks cut out and placed over the background.
