Default cmyk and rgb in eps file

I created a file with vector lines and shapes. No gradients, no transpancies or bitmaps etc. just flat vectors.

I exported this file as an .eps and have been told that it contains rgb colours.
In the Xara help file state (I think) that all colours are converted to cmyk in .pdf and eps.

    What is happening.

I belive your saying you expeorted it as pdf?
If so pdf export should be pdf/x

no eps is not converted to cmyk.
most if not all printers work with pdf now.

    Thanks Behzad,

I need to export to .eps only.
If I export to .pdf and then .eps, will that cleanse my file of RGB colours?

And how do I know which objects are RGB and which are CMYK?

    Thanks for trying Behzad,

I tried your suggestion of exporting the file as PDF/X. The image now looks like a dogs dinner.

I now realise that I need all elements to be converted to RGB and not CMYK (as the images are for web use anyway).

So how do I convert all elements of my vector file into pure RGB?

What type of eps file are saving it as? I take it it is AI. How do you know you still have RGB? is the colour editor staying at rgb when you bring it back into Xara as my eps export is working but it does not give true CMYK conversion. Your idea to re-export it as eps after importing it as a PDF will give proper conversion if that helps.

    Hi Albacore,
Yes it is AI .eps compatible.
I was told by a client that my file has both file types in it. It should only have 1. I do not know how they know this.
Using PDF/X converts everything to CMYK but I need a method of converting everything to RGB.

The .eps file needs to be 100% RGB.
    How do I achieve this?

Give me a PM and we can exchange emails and I will convert your Xara file to an RGB eps file through AI. AI has a check box to give the cmyk postscript info in an RGB file and I checked the output and it is correct.
