Thread: Webstyle Trial

  1. #1

    Default Webstyle Trial

    I downloaded the Trial for Webstyle, and am having a problem installing it.

    I have sucessfully downloaded Xara Xtreme trial, and am using it.

    When I click on the Icon on my desktop to start Webstyle, I immediately get an error message that says;

    "Failed to register the DLL's required by the program."

    I cannot get any furthur than that. Anyone know what is wrong?

    I ran the connection diagnostic, and it says I have no connection. Now, that is wrong, as I downloaded and installed Xtreme on this connection. I also stopped the Virus program (avast!) before I downloaded and installed.

    I am running Windows Vista. Is that a problem?

    I use Webstyle 4 with Vista Home premium no problems.

    Did you run the installation program with the run as administrator option?

    I am the only user on my laptop, so I AM the Administrator. Do I need to specify "run as Admin" when I install?

    Vista does things a little differently than older versions of Windows.

    Even though you are the only user of the computer you do not automatically run things as Administrator.

    You must use the Run as Admin when installing applications designed before Vista beta was released a couple of years ago.

    Webstyle 4 was released in 2004 and does need to record it's settings in the registry.

    I answered my own question, I installed it as admin, and it runs now. Thanks for the hint!
