A couple of images I worked on in 2001 when I discovered the "feathering" tool in Xara. It takes one step to do real-time feathering in Xara as opposed to Illustrator's 3 steps!

    Droopy tulip update.
They are for the back of a menu believe it or not but still require a little work as I'm not happy with the glass or relections that will be on the 'table top surface'.
I love the little alien in your first image vetorsedge, it's the friendliest thing I'd run away from that I've seen in ages.

In my opinion you could improve your wallpaper image by making the horizon bend behind (through) the sphere as in lens distortion, the clouds as well but that would be trickier.
    just a thought.

Better; I was assuming that you had meant it to be a glass sphere of course, you might have meant it to be a circle on a photograph.
What it needs now is a subtle shadow underneath on the ground and a highlight or two on the sphere itself to emphasise the spherical shape.
Here's an elderly example of my own.

Yes all Xara. The waves and spashes photograph is choped up and manipulated a little, but only in Xara.
it was done as a development of this image which was a vague copy of a demo image from one of the xara cd's., but I think we are getting away from the stop and post theme as this was done a couple of years ago.
However to justify it, you can see the distortion of the chess board through the sphere on this image, as well as a reflection of it on the surface, which is what I was talking about in the first place.

Lots of really nice work!! Mine’s a bit boring in comparison, an animated piece that I’ve been working on. A piston pump (8 frames). I may need to add some additional frame etc once I see how/if it works on a web page..

Funny – it look fine in Xara but the connecting rod is a bit jittery now. Short of adding additional frames does anyone have any ideas..?
