    Default Anti-aliased setting in X4

I have just tried it again in XX3. I have achieved it within a minute.
XX4 has no 'anti-aliased' quality setting for me to then convert and 'create a bitmap copy,
This is a pain. Due to the blend bug I already have to use XX3 to complete part of the job.
Is there another way to pixelate in X4?
In other words, where is the anti-aliased setting and why can't I save it?

its my understanding that 'full color' equates to the old 'normal' view and 'high quality' to 'anti-aliased'

of course the fact that there is really no such thing as a bitmap object in xara any more - only a bitmap filled shape - may have a bearing, but it depends on what you are trying to do, which is not too clear to me, sorry.

Anas can you please explain how you achieve your "pixelated background" in Xtreme 3.2?

It will be easier to determine if the same is possible in Xtreme 4.0.

    OK
    Get or create a bitmap.
Set quality to normal (not anti-aliased).
Stretch image so that it becomes very pixelated.
    Create bitmap copy.

When using X3, whether the quality view is set to anti-aliased or normal, the copy will always be pixelated.

When using X4, whether the quality view is set to anti-aliased or normal, the copy will always be anti-aliased when it should be pixelated.

Go into Page Options, go to the view tab, and then check the "Never Smooth" box in the BItmaps section. When that's not checked if you make a bitmap large it looks all chunky and not aliased at all.

If you make a bitmap copy of something while that option is turned off, your bitmap copy isn't aliased. Once you turn the option back on again your bitmap copy should remain pixelated and not be smoothed at all.

    Thanks Odat,
    That works fine.
Strange way of doing it, I don't know what the Xara wisdom was behind that.

Glad I could be of assistance! When I read that I had this little niggle in the back of my head that the seemed vaguely familiar.

I think it's to make zooming in on images look better, but I can't remember exactly.
