Noticed that Xara is taunting Adobe with a comparison to Illy for speed on the website ..... now are we going to get that blend that you had up your sleeve for awhile ? Illy can then be laid to rest ;-) I know a number of people rapidly jump up and down at the mention of this but it really is most useful. Check Advanced PS mag. issue 40 which is probably 'Feb', pg 19 for an example.

When I load 4.0 it pops up and says "no major updates available".

When I click "help" - update, it says no updates available - yet I have an older ver that the one you show here.

Any suggestions? - jb

The update checker checks to see if there is a new major revision only. So if you're running 3.??, it'll tell you 4.0 is available. If you're running 4.0.1 and 4.0.2 is available, you'll never know it unless you manually go look at the web page and compare it's revision to what appears in the about box.

I also launched my Xtreme 3.2 today (as I had to move back to it from 4.0) and saw a popup with new major update.
I thought there was a new build of 4.0 available but there is nothing I can find about it at the site.
Is there a new build ready? can't wait to test it...
or was it just an advertising popup?

That doesn´t mean there´s a new build of version 4.
It´s just a pop-up that appears to all 3.2 users telling them that a new major version has been launched.

Yes, I am using X4 on an xp pc with SP3 installed.

Just select to re-install option. If you have purchased the product you will be asked to re-enter you Activation Number.

I just got my CD version installed today and signed up for this forum to get up to speed. I noted this message, downloaded the trial and re-installed it as you recommended.

Unfortunately, when I now try to run the program and I click on the "Enter Application Code" button I get a "Please insert the installation CD and restart the program" dialog box.

So I put the CD back in the drive and restart the program again Same error dialog box. Looks like I'm in a loop. Any suggestions?

You only need to install from the CD. It installs 4.0.4966
This is the latest version.
