    Default export an image without a white background

    simple procedure i dont know

    i have xara x1
    bought it years ago

    urgently need to know how to export a simple graphic for printing on a black t-shirt , without a white background behind the image

    at the moment i get a white background by default, behind the image..

    i know there is a simple procedure but i dont know what it is

    thanks for your help

    Try exporting as an alpha channel .png if you need a raster. Just make sure you have the DPI set high enough for a good print. Check with your printer to see what would be optimum.

    Also, add a background rectangle behind your image that is the same color or close to the same color as the T-shirt.

    Xara anti-aliases the images edge to whatever the background color is.

    But DO NOT SELECT THE COLORED RECTANGLE! Just select the object.

    Yes this is important for 256 colour PNG/GIF anti-aliased rasters.
    However true colour+alpha PNG does not pickup any background colour (due to alpha channeling - even if linear transparencies are used over a coloured bg ) provided the bg is not selected on export as Gary states.
