    Default template colour palete error

The template palette is not saved along the page template sfter saving the template.
As soon the page with custom made colour palette is saved as Template and Xara is shut down the user palette is lost.

When Xara is started again and the template page loaded the colour palette
is default form Xara, not the palette created by user and saved.

I was testing and comparing it with Xara3.2 and in the 3.2 version it works correctly.

Please fix that bug with some patch soon.

    Cheers
    Pawel

    ...yes this is a bug.
The option to disable 'Delete unused colors when saving and loading' is ignored.

    Hi sledger,

Even though I am right about that colour palette bug, deep inside
I was hoping that I am wrong and somebody just would answer how to fix it.

Neverthe less I would appreciate it very higly if you could solve that in some way soon, since I have to manualy load palette to each document I will work with.

    Cheers

You can work around this by creating a row of small coloured squares on a new layer (and locate it off the page) which have the colours you need.
Hide the layer and save this as your template.

This works fine in Xtreme 4, 8 April DL

Use a template instead, colors provided by Gary W.Priester
open in Xara and save as template, tick the make default template option
When using this option, you can make a block of your own frequently used colors too,
you can use the eyedropper to select

I am glad mine is "broken" then, cause my color pallette works great with the "delete unused colors when saving or loading" turned off...

Can you try creating a new template John. Not your templates used from previous versions of Xtreme.

Oh heck! Now it's working for me in Vista Ult..

Here's what I did this time (making sure that 'Delete unused colors etc..' is left unchecked):

    • Open attached hawiianshirt.xar
    • Note additional colours in colourline
    • Delete *everything* off the page
    • Save the page as a new template (File->Save Template)

(you could overwrite the current 640 by 480 Drawing.xar or create a new one)
    • Close Xtreme - then open it again. File->New->640 by 480 Drawing.xar (or the name you saved it to)

For me, all the new Hawiian shirt colours are still on the colourline now.

    (Ooops - I dyslexicated 'hawaiin' )

Ok so from the above my conclusion is that this is working as expected in 4.0. It certainly works for me whether saving documents or templates. Just make sure you turn off the "Delete unused colors when saving and loading" option in the View tab of the Options dialog.

    Thanks
