Default Exteme 4.0 upgrade issue (Plug Ins)

I just purchased and upgraded to extreme 4.0 and was excited to get right to work.
I tried opening a file to work on that contained live effects plugins but they do not show up .
I went to my program files and installed alien skin plug ins to the Xara 4 folder but still no good.
    Any Suggestions?
    Thank you

    Hi BMan,

Have you closed Xtreme 4.0 and re-opened after installing the plug-in?

On my system version 4.0 found the installed plug-ins in the 3.2.4 installation folder without having to re-install the plugins.

    Let me ask this,
The shortcut on my desktop says extreme 4 e-version.
Does this mean that i am still running the trial even though i purchased the upgrade?
I noticed on start up my name and company name appear but there is no serial number displayed under my name.

I had the same problem that was easily fixed by going to Utilities>Options>Effects & Plugins>Photoshop Plugins and clicking the Setup button. Make sure your directories to your plugins are listed (mine were and I did not need to add any paths). Everything worked fine after that.
