Color Confustion in V4

Why don't colors show up in V4 color editor like they did in previous version?

Also, when I CREATE a new color, it doesn't show up in the color palette at the bottom of the screen?

You may have loaded a template in v3.2 which has an extended pallete?
By default, the basic colour-line/pallete shows the same as your v4 screenshot in my version 3.2 when using a standard Xara template.

You could use Eggs template thereby giving you an extended gamut of colours on the colour bar/line and in the colour editor drop down list.
If Eggs template is suitable you can save it as the default template
