    Default xxp4 new filters documentation

There doesn't seem to be much in xxp4 - but as has been pointed out - many of these have been ported over from magix photo editor

I was looking at the color with gradient in xxp4 and having some trouble with it until I realised the obvious that you need to give your object a transparency attribute first, before you can the apply such gradients with the filter

It took me a while until it clicked you have to apply the attributes first befor using the filter - glad it was useful thanks

    Hi Steve,

Don't know if you addressed this but when using in conjunction with the extrude tool and applying a light color to the extrude line it get's the colorgradient applied to it
When applying a dark color it get's the darkest color applied to it

Not used gradients with extrusion so far Hans

I see what you mean - not yet got my head round the way extrusion actually works in xxp4

There will be some bug fixes in the imminent new release I understand

April 2nd release of X4 appears to have fixed the color with gradient filter so that it is no longer necessary to give transparency attribute to the object first to get a transparent gradient applied from the filter - and it now works properly it would seem

also no longer necessary to give the fill attribute before applying the filter - although you will not see the gradient until you leave the filter and apply the fill tool

the notes at post #4 above have been updated
