You used three font sizes, fonts are considered lines, not shapes
One 28,06 and one 129,37 and one 116,88

I changed the line thickness to 1 pixel manually. It originally was many but looked too thick when I changed the zoom to 100%.

Before changing to 1 pixel line thickness the extrude was still very responsive and did not freeze on my system.

Ah, but I also changed it to editable shapes a couple of times
and it still happened, but thanks for the help all of you, atleast I now know what to do when it reoccurs, and maybe there will be a fix for this because it might happen to others too.

Maybe just in time, it would work for a short while at 100% but
when you moved it too much it suddenly would freeze.
But atleast we know now how to prevent it.

Changed it to editable shapes before and then regrouped
    and applied extrude

If I drop a color on the side, it freezes in your file.
It still gives a 'many' in the lines. So that doesn`t work for me.

I know it drove me crazy too.
I just will chose for linethickness 1 for all
objects I extrude, that way I know I will be save.

And Soquili (Bill) found it out, maybe by accident, but still,
you saved the day again Bill.

changed the fonts to shapes, then made your objects one shape
selected all and changed the line width(0,25 works too),grouped
    And then extruded
(this seems to be the right sequence i think)

    yep, that worked.
as long as you have one line thickness it seems.
    Thanks for the work.
