Great creative uses for the tool! I think it's been said many times before: "We're limited only to our own imagination..."
Womag,
Show us the shape you used to extrude, please! Great job!

Ron,
As you can see, the extroodle is much more interesting than the original shape.
Add an extrude depth of 175 and a 175 "curved" bevel type with some rotation of the shape and some lighting placement adjustment, the shape morphs into a butterfly from a caterpillar...that may be an exaggeration, but does look more dynamic and with some further tinkering could be much improved, I think, If others would like a go at it.
Thanks Womag,
Yes, but what a great idea, and it turned out so sharp. Now, just build on that platform and you'll have a super 3d car!
You've inspired me to try my hand at one.

Economy car.
This is a loooonnnnng way from being a finished drawing, but I wanted to show how quickly something could be thrown together and also the potential of using 3d extrude. I've already learned some things to watch out for, such as the color/shade you start out with is very important. Keep it light, mostly.

Still a long ways from completion, but you get the idea. I'm leaving this trial project to take on a more serious one.
