This is a logical continuation of the post "add transparencies and bevels" to bitmaps (see in the gallery).

1° add a shadow to a bitmap which has an alpha channel (otherwise you may slice your bitmap to extract the object you will and add a little feathering), convert it to editable shape, ungroup and trace the shadow like explained in my gallery's tip.
2° add a shadow again to the new vector object; then when warping the object with the mold tool you can warp the shadow !!!
3° try to slice your object into multiple parts and give each one a new mold to warp it separately (when separated its helpful to add an outline otherwise shadow will appears sliced too; here I have suppressed filling and converted lines to shapes before adding shadow); warp, group and add a shadow; and after, eventually convert to editable shapes and warp the whole again.
4° when converted again to editable shapes and ungrouped, you can insert some translucent object to add texture to your shadow (here it's simply a blend between two curved lines converted to shapes with an elliptical repeating transparency; a white wall shadow was added; it was converted to shapes and ungrouped.)

It's possible to add a bitmap texture to shadows, but this one is also interesting:

5° take a 24 bit bitmap copy of your shadow; add a bitmap effect (here a rough pastel); give it a stained glas transparency; add shadow again.
And that will add a progressive blur to your texture !!!
