Double (or triple) lines

I am doing an electrical layout drawing and need some suggestions for the simlest way to draw cable - l seem to have looked everywhere but can't find how to do a double line.

A triple line would be great if there is a way to do it

Most of us use a combination of the techniques described in this thread to very quickly copy objects and lines. http://www.talkgraphics.com/showthread.php?t=31822
Once copied in position then it is easy to edit the colour.

I made a brush with three lines, which is ok for straight lines,
but as soon as I put a curve in it, it goes haywire.
I've tried adjusting the spacing and checking/unchecking
the rotate along a path box, but it still doesn't create a
smooth curve, unfortunately. Any suggestions?

I tried the same and got basically the same result - the smaller you make the lines of the brush, the better. Maybe if the brush lines are only 2 pixels long, the error will not be noticable at normal zoom levels, and give an acceptable output.

Try this

Create your line and give it a line width of say, maybe 8, can give it a colour, again maybe red. Clone the line and change the width to 1, change the colour to black or whatever, you end up with something that looks like three lines. This comes from a tutorials one the xone for creating maps so I can't take any credit for it..........frank

This is as quick as the brush method,
And if you save the bitmap fill that is
made during this tutorial, you'll only
ever have to do this method once.
Doen't solve the curve problem, though.

The easiest way I have found to draw parallel lines is to clone the line, make the clone the background color and make the line width smaller...

I think Steve's answer is the best method (post # 3). If you keep a copy of the original line as well you can get 3 lines. You can carry on repeating this method to get almost any number of lines. I don't think duplicates or brushes hack it with this problem.
