    Default Splitting A Complicated Shape In Half

    I want to split a complicated shape in half and give each half a separate fill colour with a black outline but when I use the Combine Shapes – Slice (cut) Shapes option it adds a black line into the centre of the shape which is what I want to avoid. Any help and advice would be appreciated. Thank you.

    Hi,

    Try like this;

    create the star,clone it
    slice one of the stars in the middle,make the two colors
    set the line to none
    make the second star top most
    make the fill of this star none or alpha 0
    make the line the preferred size and color
    group

    John I think you may have mistaken Seagull for Soquili

    Clipview is a powerful solution to this. Clone your shape, change the color however you want one side to look, create a clipview shape however you want (a basic one would completely cover half of the object, as well as a good margin of error around the outside of that half), and then apply that shape as a clipview to the clone of the original shape. In the attached file, my clipview shape is 'no fill, no outline.'
