    We've just released a minor update, to version 1.1a.

    This is ONLY currently available as a patch for the CD installed version of Xara X1. The fixes are;
    - When doing a grad fill form one spot color to another spot color this now always separates to the correct spot plates.
    - A contoned bitmap from one spot color to another spot now separates correctly to the spot plates only.
    - Solid drag behaviour when resizing very small to very large objects was erratic under some circumstances.
    - An error that occurred when saving or closing, and occasionally turning certain layers on and off, on a small percentage of documents.
    - Real time brush strokes in 16bpp screen depths now works correctly
    - There's been an update to cope with certain forthcoming XPE plug-ins

    Those that have the CD version of Xara X1 installed might like to get the update which you can get from here;

    phil, thank you for bringing this to our attention.

    Upon investigation from our technical team, there is indeed a problem with this. They are working to rectify the problem, and someone will advise further on this soon.

    And THAT ... dear friends ... is another marvelous example of why THIS forum is the most incredible resource a user could have.

    Thank you Charles and Co. ... keep up the good work!

    Yep, sorry about this guys, but it's a new problem in the CMYK export. We're withdrawing the 1.1a. There will be a 1.1b real soon that fixes this.

    The problem only affects CMYK export, other things should be fine. If you need CMYK export back in the meantime please re-install from CD.

    Our QA seems rather lacking I'm afraid. My apologies to all.

    Could you elaborate on this? Does this mean any change/advantage for the user _now_?

    The patch is back. It's in the same location that Charles mentions above.

    The TIFF problems should now have been corrected.

    Thanks again for the notification of the issue.

    I guess it is sometimes safer to be slow on the install huh? Still running 1.1 dated 8 jun 2004... http://www.talkgraphics.com/images/smilies/biggrin.gif
