Yes that's right. Though in making a bitmap copy, it's no longer a 'Live-Effect' in that file, which can cause issues when the LE is re rendered on export.

Take a look at the "Complex fills (advanced) demonstrates overlaid fills and transparencies to create a realistic complex fill" movie under the Fills options in the movie menu. You will pick up a few neat things about fractal fills.

On my computer, PDF/X export of your original .xar file finished without any problems. Resulting PDF file size: 3622026 bytes.
