To me it's a typical transparent background nothing to worry about. You will find if you show it on your browser/website you will just see the badge not a diced background.

The additional space around the actual image is where the canvas has been resized. Zoom in or out then zoom to 100% and the canvas will return to the size of the image and the criss cross pattern will be gone.
