Interweaving

Can someone please tell me how I would go about creating an interweave effect? (The under and then over look)

I have already converted my text to editable shapes and filled with a gradient blend. I just can't figure out the rest. I know how to do it in Illustrator but unfortunately I am unable to import my AI vector object into Xtreme.

Have you tried exporting from Illustrator as PDF, then opening the PDf into Xtreme?

Thanks. Both were helpful. I had not tried Illustrator PDF only EPS and it worked like a charm. I also worked with tutorial and that was really easy also.

I was trying to weave some letters and then take them into Xara
3D but it still did not work. Once I placed them into 3D then I loose the over and under effect and it just looks like it is all one piece.

I am sure I am trying to accomplish something that is beyond the abilities of Xara 3D. Oh well...I tried.

You could export a Png or Jpg and use it as a texture in X3D

You would have to bring the letters is as individual shapes then reduce the spacing between the shapes.

Doing this in 3D is not as easy as doing it in Xtreme but Xtreme is 2D vs 3D space. It can be done. You just need some of the basics.

For the rings I used the shape editor tool to draw a shape for the extra 'over' effects, but for the weave I used clip view - have you tried that?
