    Hi,

I've been playing with bevels and came up with this rather nice (IMHO) sort of 3D ball type button. If I remember what I did correctly, I beveled the original circle, then converted to editable shapes and ungrouped. Then I beveled the bevel! Transparencies and feathered highlights were added. Then an glow shadow. To prevent the shadow showing outside I applied a clipview using a copy of the original circle, to cut off the overspill. More shadows cast on the background square made it look as though it was inset. Finally a bitmap transparency on the square and guess what? Another bevel.

I like it but not sure what I could use it for other than a learning exercise.

    Sorry John,
My error, tried to upload it as a .png rather than a jpg. Hopefully it now works.

    Carol,

Very NICE subtle effect. Almost pearl-like high lights.

    Hi Carol,

Love the soft highlights. The smooth, satin like appearance is something you should be very proud of.

Looks like a button to me. You should do up a tut. There is a user here who deals in needlework. I forget who. Maybe it was mags?
